This article will show you the most effective way of maintaining a journal thread.
If you are not sure how to access all of the journals addressed to you, then click here.
Viewing journals
When you get to the Journals page, it will look something like this.
- This is the subject of the thread/conversation.
- Who is asking and when.
- The body of the message
- Actions (ie. where you click reply)
Repling
When you click Reply, this message box will appear.
- A preview of the message you are replying to.
- A toolbar with tools for editing, formatting and inserting things into your message.
For more information on these functions, click here. - Where you type your reply.
- When you are finished, click Save.
Please be clear and descriptive in your responses to avoid misunderstandings or delays from needing more information.
This is what a complete reply looks like.
From here the thread can go back and forth until there is nothing left to say. At that stage, the reader of the last message should click the close action (Repeat, reader. Not the sender). This will end the conversation and make the thread inactive (ie. no new responses possible and saved into history).
Do Not!
When drafting another response, do not reply to your own message. This means you are communicating with yourself and we will not be notified of the original response or the second reply.
(You are essentially talking to yourself and will make people think your crazy!)
